¡Hola! I'm Dalisa. You've made Mérida your home — now let's make Spanish feel like home too. My classes are conversational: we focus on speaking, vocabulary and the things you need in your life here, with grammar mixed in as you need it. We meet online, at your home, at a café, or out in the city.
We talk about anything and everything — your week, your plans, what you need to say in daily life. You'll speak from the very first session.
Field trips to museums, parks, the supermarket or the mall, where we practice the vocabulary and phrases you'll really use.
Come on your own, or learn together with your partner or friends. Every session adapts to you and your pace — no stress, no pressure.

One of my favourite memories is how our classes felt less like lessons and more like going for coffee with a friend. We laughed so much (even if I can't remember what about!), and there was always something to talk about. I would leave our sessions still thinking in Spanish on my way home! ¡Muchísimas gracias por todo!
I enjoyed improving my Spanish with Dalisa because, in addition to knowing a lot about Spanish grammar (not all language tutors do), she's lively, bright, and personable. She was helpful in correcting my errors (again, not true of all tutors). Her stories about Estonia were very engaging, and of course she told me lots about Mérida and Yucatán.
I'm a retired language teacher myself (English and French), so I know good from mediocre instruction. I can wholeheartedly recommend Dalisa's classes and am looking forward to beginning them again very soon.
I remember feeling very comfortable being vulnerable with Dalisa. When I'm trying to express myself in Spanish, it can take me a while to find the right words. With Dalisa, I never felt rushed or self-conscious. She made me feel comfortable taking my time and figuring things out.
We shared many laughs together and felt comfortable and secure when we made mistakes because you are very engaging and encouraging. Your positive energy and feedback helped us to continue even when we felt we weren't learning fast enough.

I spent 8 years in Monterrey before arriving in Mérida a year ago. My Spanish has improved more in the last months working with Dalisa than in my entire stay before.
What I enjoyed most was how natural, engaging, and interactive the lessons always felt. Every session brought something different, with real-life topics that made learning both fun and practical. It never felt like a traditional class, but more like a great conversation with a friend!
I love that the sessions feel more like talking to a friend than a typical Spanish class. Dalisa has a great sense of humor, and she adapts to what I prefer to practice — dialogues, grammar or simply the questions I collected during the week.
It was challenging when I had to close my laptop screen and tell a story using the vocabulary I had at the time. I closed my eyes and relaxed. It helped me overcome my initial performance anxiety and made me realize I have the tools for basic conversations.

Immersion experiences
A short, intensive immersion out in the city. Each day we head somewhere new in Mérida — museums, parks, markets, the supermarket, the mall — and practice the vocabulary and real-life situations you meet there, from ordering and asking for directions to chatting with locals.
Perfect for couples, friends or a small group who want to make a leap in a few days.
